このコースは政治、健康、環境、テクノロジー、教育に関しての国内外の時勢のある出来事に関連した意見の交換やディスカッションをしたいと考えていらっしゃる上級レベルの方が対象となります。　様々な教材を駆使して英語でのより自然なコミュニケーション能力を向上させていくチャンスを皆さまに提供していきます。

この目的を達成する為にこのコースでは以下のような内容で行います

• 英国文化や時事的なニュース要素をもったイベントを取り上げます
• 語彙の発展に重点をおきます
• 新聞、BBCのビデオ等を駆使し幅広い教材を使い、ディスカッションや意見交換を行います
• ニュースを聞き取る自信を養う為のリスニングタスク
• より効果的なコミュニケーション能力と自信を付ける為のスピーキングタスク
• 日々の実用的な英語表現の練習　　例)同意/不同意、一般論を述べる等々

This course is for Advanced level students who are interested in topic-based discussion and exchange of opinions related to current national and international events in areas such as politics, health, environment, technology, education. The course is designed to provide you with plenty of opportunities to extend your ability to communicate more naturally in English through exposure to authentic material.

To achieve this aim, this course provides you with:

・insights into British culture and current news events;
・emphasis on vocabulary development;
・exposure to a wide range of authentic material to stimulate discussion and sharing of opinions - newspapers and BBC video;
・listening tasks to build confidence in listening to the news;
・speaking tasks to increase your confidence and ability to communicate more effectively;
・practice of everyday functional expressions used in English e.g. agreeing/disagreeing, generalising etc.
