IELTS Correspondence
This course consists of 10 written exam papers (5 task 1 &
5 task 2 questions) and is available for both Academic and General
Modules. The course covers a variety of question types, e.g. graphs,
tables, diagrams; formal, informal letters; stating opinion, giving
reasons; providing solutions.
The procedure is:
・ we email, post or fax you the first exam questions (one task 1
& one task 2)
・ you complete them and send them back by post or fax
・ your teacher corrects them and also writes suggestions on how
to improve your writing
・ we email, post or fax the corrected papers, your teacher's comments,
model answers, and your next assignment within 48 hours (excluding
weekends).
・ The above process is repeated for the remaining 4 papers.
There is no time limit for you to return your answers, only for
us to return our corrections, so you can arrange your practice to
suit your schedule.
Course Fee: ¥30,000 (no additional charges for postage, materials,
registration, etc.).
The Range of Writing Tasks
The course aims to give you practice and examples in the range
of questions you are likely to meet in actual IELTS exams. Some
question types are more common than others. We start with what we
believe to be the most common type and progress to less frequent
ones.
Task 1, Academic
This task involves describing an illustration- one or more graphs,
drawings in at least 150 words.
Your tasks will be:
1. a line graph
2. past and future data
3. two charts
4. how something works
5. a process
Task 1, General
This task involves writing a letter- formal or informal for a variety
of functions.
Your tasks will be:
1. an informal letter providing information
2. a formal letter describing a situation
3. a formal letter of apology
4. an informal letter seeking assistance
5. a formal letter of complaint
Task 2, Academic and General
This task involves writing a discursive essay of at least 250 words.
Your tasks will be:
1. agreeing / disagreeing with a stated opinion
2. presenting possible reasons and your opinion
3. giving possible solutions to a problem
4. providing an evaluation of a situation
5. presenting both sides of an argument

changes introduced to the IELTS exam, your teachers regularly take
